Why Omera Exists
Omera started from something very personal.
My family is Italian, and my partner’s family is Spanish. Even though everyone wanted to connect, language often got in the way. Sometimes it was a simple message, a family group chat, or a conversation where people could not fully express themselves. Watching that happen made me realise how many people face the same problem every day.
The more I thought about it, the more I noticed that communication barriers are everywhere. They are not just about speaking different languages. People struggle to find the right words, worry about making mistakes, adjust their tone depending on who they are talking to, or lack confidence when writing in a language that is not their own.
I started Omera because I wanted to make communication easier.
The goal was never to build another keyboard. The keyboard is simply where communication happens most often, so it felt like the right place to start. What I am really interested in is helping people express themselves clearly and confidently, wherever they write.
Whether it is an expat talking to family back home, a student writing in a second language, or a professional communicating with colleagues around the world — everyone deserves tools that help them communicate without friction.
We are still a small team and at the beginning of the journey, but the vision is simple: make it easier for people to understand each other.
If Omera can help someone feel more confident sending a message, writing an email, or connecting with someone they care about, then we are building something worthwhile.
